HEALTHY RELATIONSHIP SKILLS CAN BE LEARNED.
Relationships don't come with instruction manuals.
We enter them with different personalities, family histories, expectations, communication styles, needs, experiences, and ways of responding to conflict.
Those differences don't necessarily mean something is wrong.
But without healthy skills, differences can turn into misunderstanding, disconnection, and recurring conflict.
Relationship Ready gives you practical tools for navigating those moments differently.
Learn how to better understand yourself, recognize unhealthy communication patterns, listen and communicate more effectively, regulate emotional responses, navigate disagreements, and repair after conflict.
You don't have to wait until a relationship is in crisis to learn how to have healthier relationships.
WHO IS RELATIONSHIP READY FOR?
Relationship Ready is designed for adults across different stages of their relationship journey.

You don't have to be in a relationship to develop relationship skills.
Learn more about your communication patterns, emotional responses, conflict style, needs, and the skills you want to bring into a future relationship.
DATING

Prepare for more than the wedding.
Develop practical skills for communication, conflict management, emotional regulation, compromise, and connection as you prepare for marriage.
MARRIED
Whether you've been married for two years or twenty, communication patterns can change.
Learn strategies for navigating recurring disagreements, communicating more effectively, maintaining connection, and repairing after difficult interactions.
Your partner does not have to participate.
You can enroll individually or participate with your partner.
Relationship Ready recognizes that you can work on the skills you bring to relationships even when another person isn't participating.
CONFLICT ISN'T NECESSARILY THE PROBLEM.
How we respond to it matters.
Conflict is a normal part of human relationships.
When two people bring different experiences, personalities, values, expectations, needs, and perspectives into a relationship, disagreement is inevitable.
The goal isn't necessarily to eliminate conflict—or even to resolve every disagreement.
The goal is to develop healthier ways to:
Communicate
Understand one another
Regulate emotions
Navigate differences
Maintain connection
Negotiate & compromise
Repair when conflict creates distance
That's what Relationship Ready is designed to teach.
THE 4R CONFLICT & COMMUNICATION FRAMEWORK
The Relationship Ready curriculum is organized around four areas:
REALIZE
Understand what's happening.
Before we can change how we respond to conflict, we need to understand ourselves, our relationships, and conflict itself.
SESSION 1
Conflict Isn't the Problem
Explore what conflict is, healthy vs. unhealthy conflict, and how our perspectives and expectations influence the way we approach disagreements.
SESSION 2
You, Me & We
Explore individual differences within relationships, including personality, love languages, individual needs and preferences, and conflict styles.
RECOGNIZE
Identify the patterns.
We can't change patterns we don't recognize.
SESSION 3
Why Do We Keep Getting Into It?
Learn to identify recurring conflict cycles and communication behaviors such as criticism, contempt, defensiveness, and stonewalling, along with healthier alternatives.
SESSION 4
Communication 101: It's More Than What You Say
Explore verbal and nonverbal communication, assumptions, interpretation, and the difference between intent and impact.
REACH
Develop healthier connection.
We can't change patterns we don't recognize.
SESSION 5
Pay Attention to Me: Connection Before Conflict
Learn about bids for connection, emotional investment, and the everyday interactions that can strengthen or weaken relationships over time.
SESSION 6
Power Skills: Listen. Understand. Connect.
Practice skills including active listening, empathy, validation, curiosity, rapport, and communicating understanding—even when there is disagreement.
REPAIR
Learn how to reconnect.
Not every disagreement can—or needs to—end with complete agreement.
Healthy relationships also require the ability to recover from difficult interactions and find a way forward.
SESSION 7
Calm Yourself. Help Me Calm Down.
Learn to recognize emotional escalation and practice strategies for self-regulation, co-regulation, taking productive breaks, and returning to difficult conversations.
SESSION 8
Finding Our Way Forward
Develop practical skills for negotiation, compromise, accepting influence, problem-solving, repairing relationship ruptures, and creating workable agreements when differences remain.
